THERMIva: Non-Surgical Vaginal Restoration

Let’s face it; childbirth can be tough on a woman’s body. If you’ve given birth vaginally, this sensitive area might be feeling a bit worse for the wear. With THERMIva, we can help restore the vaginal area and the procedure is completely non-invasive, non-surgical and even pain-free.

The Benefits of THERMIva Treatment:

• Tightens the labia and vaginal cavity
• Improves lubrication & reduces dryness
• Lessens the effects of incontinence due to muscle weakness
• Non-Surgical, Non-Invasive & No Downtime

Why Consider THERMIva?

After childbirth, many women face several issues and they can be tough to handle both physically and emotionally. While our bodies are meant to carry and deliver children, this doesn’t mean that everything simply snaps back into shape after childbirth.

If you’ve notice a loose feeling in your vaginal area or perhaps sex is just not as pleasurable as it once was, vaginal rejuvenation can help. Additionally, it’s not uncommon for women to deal with urinary urgency and some incontinence after childbirth. If you tend to leak urine when sneezing, coughing or exercising, you know just how frustrating this can be, and THERMIva can help with this problem as well.

Additionally, as women enter the phases of pre-menopause and menopause, it’s not uncommon to experience changes in the vaginal area as well as incontinence. THERMIVa can be a solution for women in menopause as well as younger women who experience these changes after childbirth.

As we age, our bodies basically stop producing estrogen and we produce less collagen. Collagen is what helps to keep skin and muscles youthful and elastic, while estrogen also helps support vaginal health. As we hit menopause, the estrogen levels drop and this can cause vaginal issues such as dryness and even painful sex, as well as urinary incontinence.

Of course, typically, when you describe those issues, you’ll hear things like, “oh, that’s perfectly normal.” Yes, it’s common, but just because an issue is common, doesn’t mean you have to live with it or that it cannot be fixed. If you are suffering from any of these issues, we can help!

What Is THERMIva?

In the past, surgery was typically the method used to improve the condition and appearance of female genitalia. Options such as a vaginoplasty could restore the tightness in the vaginal area, but this procedure requires general anesthesia and it takes several weeks to recover, not to mention the fact that you aren’t cleared for sex or tampon use for up to eight weeks.

Rather than surgically alter the area, THERMIva uses heat generated from radiofrequency waves to stimulate collagen growth. Typically, we recommend three treatments, spaced about four to six weeks apart. Each individual THERMIva procedure is completed within 30 minutes, and you immediately can return to normal activities, including sex. There’s literally no downtime, it’s just that easy.

The THERMIva Procedure

For the first step, we place a special gel on the labia to protect this sensitive area. We then take the THERMIva wand and gently rub the wand over the vulvar tissues and the labia. The wand uses radiofrequency waves and this generates enough heat to stimulate your vaginal muscles which then stimulates collagen growth.

As stated before, this procedure is not painful and takes about 30 minutes. After we complete the procedure, you can just go back to your normal routine. Head to the gym, go back to work on enjoy an intimate date night with your significant other.

You should notice immediate improvement after the first THERMIva treatment, but we definitely recommend that you undergo all three treatments. The second and third treatments are essential to really promote that collagen growth; otherwise the effects from the first treatment won’t last as long.

After these three treatments are complete, most of our patients return every year for one follow-up treatment. Only one THERMIva treatment, and not three, is needed for yearly maintenance.

Who’s The Ideal THERMIva Patient?

Typically, most women are good candidates for THERMIva. However, if you are pregnant, THERMIva is not a treatment option and if you currently have a urinary tract infection, we will need to reschedule your appointment until you are well.

Additionally, if you are breastfeeding, you might want to put off THERMIva treatments. It’s not that it’s unsafe, it’s just that some of the vaginal changes, such as dryness and irritation, may resolve on their own after you stop breastfeeding and normal menstrual cycles begin. However, if you are breastfeeding and dealing with uncomfortable looseness in the vaginal area, then THERMIva might be a good option for you.

Generally, our THERMIva patients are women who are dealing with side effects from menopause or women who have had multiple vaginal births or perhaps one particularly difficult vaginal birth. We also treat women who wish to improve the visual appearance of the labia and vaginal area, and we encourage any women facing these vaginal issues to give us a call and talk about our vaginal rejuvenation treatments.
