SCIENCE BRIEF PLASMA IQ™ HOW IT WORKS –What is PLASMA IQ?
PLASMA IQ is a minimally invasive, ablative technology that harnesses the power of plasma energy to rejuvenate and tighten skin and reduce the signs of aging. Plasma energy is achieved by ionizing atmospheric nitrogen gas to create a plasma arc that delivers controlled microinjuries to the skin surface and zones of thermal modification that extend into the dermis. This results in tightening and contraction of the tissue to restore and regenerate the skin.
What is happening in the skin? PLASMA IQ treatment results in a dual phase thermal injury to the tissue: 1. Thermal necrosis – irreversible ablative injury to the epidermis and dermis 2. Thermal modification – deeper reversible injury to the papillary and reticular dermis PLASMA IQ immediately produces desiccated tissue (carbon crusts) which serve as a natural and protective biological dressing during the skin’s regenerative healing process.
Why is it called fibro blasting? The plasma treatment is also known as “fibroblasting” because it stimulates fibroblast activity to promote collagen production in the dermis.
